Spring Fever FAQ

What is Spring Fever?

Spring Fever is Radford University’s annual “week of giving.”

This exciting online fundraising competition takes place Monday, April 15 – Friday, April 19. It is one week that brings our entire Highlander family together to support current students. During #radforduspringfever, Radford University’s seven colleges go head-to-head to see which can reach their donor goal first. We are excited to see how many supporters will make a gift in just one week!

Who can participate in Spring Fever?

Anyone can support Radford University during Spring Fever by making a gift ($5 minimum). Alumni, parents, friends, students (both undergraduate and graduate), faculty and staff are encouraged to participate. We need your support!

How can I be involved in Spring Fever?

Make a gift!

Show your Highlander pride by making a donation to support students studying within your favorite college(s). A gift of any size makes a difference! If you have already made your annual gift, please consider joining the excitement by making a nominal gift ($5 minimum).

Spread the word!

We need your help to reach as many alumni, friends and supporters as possible! Check out our Social Media Influencer Toolkit for resources like a sample email to send to friends, a special Spring Fever photo to post, and an animated gif to share on your Twitter or Instagram profiles.

Other ways to get social:

  • Frame your Facebook profile pic. Add the Spring Fever frame to your Facebook profile pic by visiting facebook.com/profilepicframes and searching for “Radford University Spring Fever” (desktop) or by selecting “Add Frame” when changing your profile pic on a mobile device.

When you change your pic or post an image, be sure to include a description so your friends know why you are proud to be a Highlander, what Spring Fever is and how they can get involved!

  • Use the hashtag. Help this initiative go viral by using #radforduspringfever when you post.
  • Tag your friends. Grab your fellow Highlanders’ attention by tagging them in your posts and sharing throwback photos from your time on campus!

Can I make a pledge that I will fulfill at a later date to help my favorite college win?

Where should I designate my gift in order to count during Spring Fever?

A gift to any of the funds listed on the Spring Fever website will count toward the competition.

Can I give anonymously?

Yes!  If you would prefer that your name does not show on our “Campaign Heroes” wall, please select “Anonymous” when making your gift. Please note that the amount of your donation will never be displayed publicly.

Is my payment secure?

Yes! As is the case every day, all payments will be processed using a secure online giving form. The information collected during Spring Fever will be used only by Radford University.

Will my gift be tax-deductible?

Your gift is tax-deductible as allowed by law. Please consult your tax professional for information regarding the tax-deductible nature of your gift.

What if I’ve already made my gift this fiscal year (I donated between July 1, 2018 – April 1, 2019)?

Thank you for your loyal support!

Gifts made after April 1, 2019 will count toward the Spring Fever totals. If you made your gift prior to April 1, then we encourage you to participate in Spring Fever by making a second nominal gift ($5 minimum) before Spring Fever ends on April 19.
